Today I came across a famous quote from Helen Keller, ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.’ Helen Keller was a known woman of luminous intelligence, high ambition and great accomplishments. She was driven by her deep compassion for others and devoted her life to helping them overcome significant obstacles to living healthy and productive lives.

For so long we have talked about a better world; world with no hunger, insecurity and inequality. At Eddys Kitchen Initiative, we envision the same world. A place where our children will live free of malnutrition and be able to realize their dreams. Volunteering under E.K. banner allows you to make an impact in these communities. Our contribution towards the making of this world a reality should be consistent but with demanding lives, we understand that it can be hard to find time to volunteer towards our course or any for that matter.

Nonetheless, volunteering can bring forth enormous benefits. When you volunteer you get to help to school going children and a community in need. On a personal level our volunteering programs are tailor made to fit the time and need of every individual. We create a right match for volunteers in order for them to be able to connect with the community, find friends, learn new skills, and even advance their careers.

Being a volunteer at E.K Initiative begins by filling a form on our website. By doing this we will be able to understand your interests and objective for your time at E.K. As a volunteer you have the choice of registering for short or long time programs depending on your availability. Short term programs lasts for a period of a school term while long term runs for a year.

Whether you have an interest in Education, Nutrition, Information Technology or even Community Development, at the end of your program you will be awarded with a certificate of participation and a seat at the Eddys Kitchen Initiative Young Advocates Board (E.K.Y.A.B) where you will continue to share your expertise towards building a better tomorrow.
